# Privacy Policy

> AIde Privacy Policy - How we collect, use, and protect your information

**Effective Date:** August 7, 2025

This Privacy Policy explains how AIde collects, uses, stores, and protects your personal information when you use our service.

## 1. Information We Collect

### Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

* **Email address** (required for all accounts)
* **Name** (required for all accounts)
* **Password** (if not using OAuth authentication)
* **Profile image** (if using OAuth authentication like Google)

### DeltaMath Credentials

* **DeltaMath username and password** (encrypted and stored securely)
* These credentials are used exclusively for accessing DeltaMath on your behalf
* Stored until you manually delete them using the delete button in your account
* Only accessible by our backend systems for the purpose of completing DeltaMath problems

### Assignment and Usage Data

* **Records of problems completed by AIde** (not problems you complete yourself)
* **Assignment completion data** when AIde processes your work
* **We do NOT collect or store scores you achieve on problems you complete manually**
* **We only store data for problems that AIde completes on your behalf**

### Payment Information

* Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe
* We receive limited analytical data from Stripe including:
  * Last 4 digits of payment methods
  * General transaction information
  * Subscription status and billing data
* **We do NOT store sensitive payment information** like full credit card numbers or CVV codes
* All payment data is stored in secure databases accessible only to our backend systems

## 2. Analytics and Tracking

### Analytics Services

We use the following third-party analytics services:

* **PostHog** - User behavior analytics and session recordings
* **Vercel Analytics** - Website performance and usage metrics
* **Sentry** - Error tracking and performance monitoring

### Data Collected by Analytics

* **IP addresses**
* **Browser information** (type, version, settings)
* **Device information** (type, operating system)
* **Usage patterns** and time spent on our service
* **Session recordings** (with all text content set to private/hidden)
* **Activities associated with your user account** to improve your experience

### Cookies and Local Storage

* **Local storage** for application functionality
* **Firebase/Firebase Auth** authentication cookies
* **Analytics cookies** from our third-party analytics providers
* **No additional tracking cookies** beyond those necessary for service operation

## 3. How We Use Your Information

* **Authenticate your account** and provide access to AIde
* **Access DeltaMath on your behalf** using your stored credentials
* **Complete assignments** as requested through our service
* **Process payments** through Stripe integration

We share limited information with:

* **Firebase** - Authentication services

* We assume reasonable data protection by our third-party providers

* **We do not provide** your DeltaMath credentials to any party other than DeltaMath itself

## 5. Data Retention and Deletion

### Standard Data Retention

* **All user data is stored indefinitely** until you request deletion
* **No automatic deletion** of inactive accounts
* **Users should assume** that any data entered into our service is stored temporarily or permanently

### Account Deletion

When you delete your account:

* **All personally identifiable information is deleted**
* **Purchase records are retained** for security and financial record-keeping
* **DeltaMath credentials are permanently removed**
* **Account data** including profile information, settings, and preferences is deleted

### Data Deletion Requests

* **Users can request data deletion** at any time by contacting support
* **Users can view stored data** by submitting a data access request
* **Deletion requests are processed** within a reasonable timeframe
* **Some data may be retained** as required by law or for legitimate business purposes

## 6. Data Security

* **User passwords are encrypted** using industry-standard encryption
* **DeltaMath credentials are encrypted** and stored securely
* **Database access** is restricted to authorized backend systems only
* **No user-facing access** to encrypted credential databases

* **Regular security monitoring** through our error tracking systems
